At Riverside, we want pet owners to understand the importance of vaccinations. If you want your pet to live a long happy life, you must keep them immunized against the many common diseases that threaten your loved one on a daily basis. Our veterinarians can advise you on which vaccines your pet requires and others that may prove wise for your pet's particular well care needs.
ANNUAL HEALTH EXAMS
Your pet's annual visit consists of vaccines, a general physical exam which include taking your pet's temperature and pulse, auscultation of the heart and lungs, heartworm testing, abdominal and lymph node palpatation, fecal exam, musculoskeletal evaluation, and coat and skin evaluation. Also included is an examination of your pet's eyes, ears, teeth, a general orthopedic exam and a review of past medical history.
At Riverside Veterinary Hospital, we not only carry a complete line of maintenance and prescription diet foods, we also offer a wide variety of adult, senior and puppy/kitten foods. Stop by today and have one of our trained staff members help you determine which diet is right for your pet.
Laser Therapy is focused on providing a non-surgical solution for veterinarians to treat pain, reduce inflammation and aid healing. The laser therapy delivers specific red and near-infrared wavelengths of laser light to induce a photochemical reaction and therapeutic effect. Physiological effects include increased circulation, reduced inflammation, pain reduction and enhanced tissue healing. Laser therapy has been used in Europe since the 1970s and was cleared by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2005.

With digital radiography, we have the benefit of capturing images of your pets much faster to reduce the possible exposure of radiation to both your beloved pet and our veterinary staff. Additionally, overexposed images would have to be retaken with older methodologies. Digital radiographs give us the ability to "fix" these images with contrast rather than retakes. Also, chemicals used to process our old images are no longer needed. Finally, we have the ability to email your pet's images to another specialist if needed, saving valuable time for your pet.
IN-HOUSE LAB AND DIAGNOSTICS
Riverside Veterinary Hospital has several in-house testing capabilities including blood chemistry, electrolytes and complete blood counts. By having the ability to run these in-house, we can more quickly diagnose your pet's condition. In addition, we offer EKG testing for cardiac arrhythmias. Our clinic has the most innovative blood chemistry and complete blood count analyzers available. Complete blood counts can inform our doctors of possible anemia or cancer and are an excellent indicator of the overall health of your pet. Your pet's blood work can be completed within twenty minutes giving our veterinarians the ability to make many diagnoses on the spot.
Regular professional cleaning is important in maintaining your pet's teeth. Our technicians polish teeth to create a smooth tooth surface that is more resistant to plaque buildup. At Riverside Veterinary Hospital, we provide routine teeth cleaning and extractions for your pet to help them live a long and comfortable life.
Once a diagnosis is made, it is important to begin the appropriate treatment as soon as possible. Our in-house pharmacy makes it possible for us to begin therapy with the prescribed medication before you leave the clinic.
Riverside Veterinary Hospital proudly offers dog and cat microchipping. A Home Again microchip is a permanent pet ID. The veterinarians use a simple procedure to inject a microchip that is about the size of a grain of rice. If your pet is lost and taken to an animal shelter or local veterinarian, the chip is scanned to find the unique pet ID number.
