Meet the Veterinarians!

Paul Ritch, DVM

RVH was founded in 1988 by Dr. Paul Ritch. He is a 1976 graduate of Mandeville High School and a 1983 graduate of LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduation, Dr. Ritch returned to his hometown where he worked at another local hospital. After 5 years, he founded Riverside Veterinary Hospital and moved to our current location in 1991.

Dr. Ritch has one simple philosophy, "Practice good medicine and the rest will follow". His desire to be the BEST hospital in Mandeville, not necessarily the biggest, has proven to be a good recipe for success at Riverside.

Dr. Ritch is married with 3 grown children and is an avid fisherman.

In 1992, Dr. Jimmy Maxwell joined the practice. Dr. Maxwell graduated from Mandeville High School in 1981 and from there went on to graduate from LSU undergraduate school in 1985 with a degree in Petroleum Land Management. After working 3 years as a land man, he decided this occupation was not going to satisfy him for life. He decided to pursue a career in veterinary medicine, something he wanted to do since childhood. In 1992, that goal was achieved.

Two years after joining Dr. Ritch at RVH, Dr. Maxwell became a partner in the practice. Mandeville is also Dr. Maxwell's hometown. He is married and the father of 3 daughters. His interest include faith, family, friends and fishing.

 Amy Munchausen, DVM

Dr. Amy Munchausen completed her undergraduate studies at Southeastern La. University. She graduated from LSU Veterinary School in 2008.

Although originally from the Northshore, she moved to Las Vegas upon graduation where she practiced small animal medicine for 7 years. Although Dr. Munchausen treats all small animals, she has a special interest in exotic medicine which includes pocket pets, birds, reptiles, ferrets, rabbits & fish.

Dr. Munchausen's household zoo includes 2 dogs, 3 cats, 3 caiman lizards, fish & tarantulas. She enjoys photography, time with her pets, hiking & boating.

Dr. Kelsey DiMiceli Green grew up on a dairy farm on the outskirts of Hammond, Louisiana. She completed her undergraduate degree at Louisiana State University in 2012. She also received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from LSU with honors in 2017. Kelsey joined RVH after graduation and lives on the Northshore with her pets Milee- a Pomeranian, Kate- a Brittany, and her two orange tabbys- Mister Butter and Cornbread.

Dr. DiMiceli's special interests are internal medicine, small animal reproduction, and ophthalmology. When she isn't shopping, Dr. DiMiceli enjoys working alongside her future husband and family at their working Angus cattle ranch in Mount Hermon, Louisiana. Her faith has taught her that by putting God first every else will fall into place. Dr. DiMiceli looks forward to every opportunity to impact the lives of people and their animals as they have so greatly impacted her own. "
